A quick note about this site…

Recently, I have been creating video tutorials that are on Avenza’s  blog. Avenza makes software that I use every day,  MAPublisher.  And some of my clients use the Avenza Maps store to share their maps. Avenza’s support team has been responsive to questions over the years.

I’m working on a cartography book because I want to share my love for mapping.  I got into making maps because I wanted to share my love of bicycling. Now I think there’s value in making your own maps. Making a map is a learning process, not just about the end product.

I post regularly to my person blog, stevespindler.com. This blog tends to have photo illustrations as well as maps. By making photo illustrations, I feel like I’ve improved as a cartographer.

I use Vimeo to create hours of videos that never get seen by anyone. And I use Camtasia when I want to produce a video to share.

If you’d like to get on my personal email list, you can email me.

Other things I’m working on

I help hundreds of planners get public using WikiMapping.com.  Ángel Guzmán Maeso is working on improving wikimapping. Robinson Batista Madrigal is working on a separate community mapping platform that I hope to integrate into WikiMapping.
